Welcome to CSIM!

This program proposes a truly interdisciplinary context around interactive artifacts that make a solid and coherent use of recent knowledge on cognitive systems, specificities of the diverse interactive media and real-time interactive technologies. Because of the interdisciplinary nature of the program we expect all students to embrace the three fields that converge on the master independent of their background field of knowledge.

What is CSIM and what it is not

CSIM IS:

 CSIM IS NOT:

* a challenging program with a strong interdisciplinary context where engineering, computer science, robotics, psychology, arts, media studies, linguistics, HCI and neuroscience are blended into a single research and practice field

* a program where students coming from humanities and communication will need to know/learn programming, special interfaces and sensors and mathematical tools.

* a program where students coming from humanities and technology will need to know/learn about communication and media specificities, generation and structuring of meaning, social uses of interactive media, and interactive art.

* a program where students coming from technology and communication will need to know/learn cognitive psychology, experimental design and statistics.

* a program where all students will need to know/learn about the brain and neuroscience.
